First Boating Anchorage Of Many

What another great weekend on the water! That's two for two, my friends. A pleasant change from last year - like 180 degrees different. . .

 Anchor Girl & I took advantage of the weather forecast on Friday evening to anchor out on the water for the first overnight of the year. Well, it started off good; with dead calm conditions;

 Alas, our night was cut short by increasing winds and pounding waves, so we pulled anchor around 3:30 am and made a very slow cruise back to the more comfortable docks. Not wanting to disturb our fellow boaters, we elected to tie up to the gas docks for the rest of the night. A bit different to wake up in an open slip at our own marina - It's a nice view from out here on the water, actually. Got me thinking - no bird poop out here, no worrying about dropping the antennae every time we come back to the dock and season long outside views. Hmmmm . . .

Sunday we went back out for a GLORIOUS day on the water! Perfect conditions allowed for some boat washing and polishing, too. With the day being so hot, Sanja and I decided it was a good time to jump in for the first swim of the year. Really cold at first, but a welcome refreshment later in the day as it got really hot out in the sunshine;
